Holy house finished batman we have the keys. Alas the place is far from complete.......well at leats to Kay and me's satifaction. Still waiting on stuff to be complete from pre-hand over and hand over date. Not till January now. Still have no drive or alfresco. Hate, hate, vomit hate!!!! Pleaase be over soon!!
At least Xmas in the "New House" is happening. Kids really excited about Santa coming with a bag full of goodies.

My turn to keep you up to date with the latest bullshit that we were fed! I was afraid that the keyboard would not cope with the pressure of Glenn pounding the keys!.....That and the somewhat colourful language that may grace this page.

Well, we were told handover would happen Wednesday 6th December 10am on-site. That in itself (the on-site bit) seemed a little strange. Everyone else we know has had handover at the office. So that's oddity number 1 (oddity number 2 would have been receiving some customer service from these people.....at any time......ever!).

Now based on history with our time in this building nightmare, Glenn and I knew well enough NOT to get excited. And we were once again proven correct.

We set out Wednesday morning with the hope that all the crap that we've endured may soon be over.....Alas 'twas not to be!! We felt physically ill, so much so that we could have quite easily pulled over and thrown up! As we drove the seemingly never ending road to our house we pulled up to a HUGE pile of rubble, sand and other building material. It was like we were stuck in a time warp and had gone back in time 3 weeks because nothing had been done since our inspection. The supervisor was on the defence straight away saying the painter had let him down again, and the cleaner can't do it until Monday 11th. Oh, he did say he tried getting hold of Glenn (this even though we have from day one told them to ring me as I'm more likely to be available). See this is the bullshit we get fed. The place was a pig sty! The floors still hadn't been cleaned, doors still needed to be hung, dishwasher was yet to be installed - you know just small things!!! I mean come on. How much shit do we have to put up with? The thing that REALLY PISSED US OFF was that I'd asked the question Monday morning on whether it was still gonna happen. Yes Kay, not heard anything different Kay, Supervisor hasn't informed me otherwise so all still good. CRAP - FUCKING BULLSHIT LIARS!!! (sorry Mum) They had to have known that it wasn't gonna happen.

We'd organised our tiles to be delivered, arranged a time to have the carpets laid and were going to paint before that was done on the 18th. All gone to shit! All it would have taken was a phone call saying hey guys sorry, but it's not gonna happen. But no, that would mean customer service and ummmm - we haven't seen any of that yet so I don't know what we were thinking!!!

I feel like back charging them for loss of income, rent, serious frustration and stress! Don't like my chances though. Just as well that we didn't take them on their word (hey wouldn't that be nice??) by forfeiting our rental and arranging to move in this weekend. That would have been interesting. Oh, I forgot - they did actually offer to give us the keys. Unbelievable! The bloody cheek of it - we don't even have dead locks, just holes where they're supposed to go!! I said what's the point, nothing's been done. I had to keep walking away, I was so mad and those who know me well know that this is when my emotions kick in and I probably would have ended up in tears. I WAS NOT GOING TO GIVE THEM THAT SATISFACTION! I can't believe we're still in this nightmare. We so want to say give us the keys and #@*& off!!!! These guys couldn't organise a root in a brothel (sorry Mum...again!!!)

Then today (2 days later) I get a phone call from our Customer Liaison Officer (LOL - laugh out loud) saying I hear things didn't go well Wednesday. My reply - uh yeah! So we're fed the "it'll be ready Thursday 14th December at 10am for handover - would you like to book in?" Gee, let me think about that for a while..........Yeah why don't you do that!*$#. Then (and this is the kicker) she says to me "You're not happy are you Kay? Do you want to tell me about it? That's what I'm here for". Can you believe it? I nearly laughed in her face. I'm thinking no, I don't feel like telling you 'cause I may not be able to stop the profanity coming out of my mouth or the tears from my eyes as my emotions go into overdrive...yeah yeah - okay I'm a sook but at least I can admit it!!! She's like are you sure? Yeah - what's the point? Going to the Construction Manager and CEO didn't help but hey I'm sure you'll listen!!!!

Had another site meeting today. This one was arranged so we could see the house in all it's glory, meaning the place was gonna be cleaned. (Get some cool photo's for the blog!) In spic-n-span condition for our viewing pleasure. The pile of crap out the front was gonna be cleared. All organised last week with the super and his boss.

We rocked up this arvo a little early coz we was a bit excited. We waited and waited.........and waited a bit more. We could see from the front that the house wasn't touch from our last meeting. The place was still a pigs paradise and the shit out the front was moved from here...............to here. Why??? Fuck knows!! Oh....they did clear the drive hense the moving of some of the shit from here to there. They semi levelled the driveway, put down some yellow sand, Why? I hear you ask. Good question coz we were told today that the pavers aren't ready until January!!!!! Great just great.... We are movin in with no drive or alfresco. Lucky we got a 4WD!!!!! The wrong front doors were delivered......can't be stained as arranged and paid more for I might add. So they gotta go back and wait for a shipment from Sydney to arrive for the right ones!!

The super arrived at 20 past the arranged time....sat in the car for about 5 minutes talking on the phone.....got out walked straight past us.....didn't say boo......opened the front doors..Why???? Buggered if I know.....(No point going in side)
Man at this stage me hair was on fire. I'm sure the dickhead could see from the car that I was steaming. I reckon he was on the phone calling for back-up. Kay laughed at that.
No appology, no nothing. He just said the cleaner has been booked.....yea no shit, but for when. Should ave been done for this arvo??????? Man o man what do ya have to do. He then said we will be in, in 14 days............The cheek..BULLSHIT!!!

I mean.....back up the fuckin crap truck. Enough is enough. I HAVE HAD A GUT FULL!! I"M FINISHED......DONE LIKE A DOGS DINNER. Just give us the keys now. I'll do the rest...........JUST FUCK OFF!!!!!

A final bit of worthless trivia for ya. Our block was purchased 367 days ago today and we are now officially 79 days over schedule from when the pad went down!!

Just a boring update without any pics. Looks like we should be in before Xmas after all. Had a site meeting on Friday. The house is almost finished. Just needed the final touches to the painting, door handles put on, front doors stained, stove put in and hooked up, dish washer installed, driveway paved, walls patched up, paint man hole cover, fix up laundry where they layed the wrong tiles (NOB HEADS!!!), finish the wiring, pave the alfresco, clean the eave paint off the brickwork, remove all the shit from the front yard and clean the inside of the house.

Man.........that sounds like a real Christmas list hey. Here's hoping.

Oh and it's offical........straight from the horses mouth......we are 74 working days behind schedule. That equates to 14 weeks. So our move in date should have been around the 12th August.
According to the bulider there is only 1 home that is slower than us. They are 98 days behind. Nice to know we aren't last but ya gotta feel for them.

Oh and I think I forgot to mention that when they delivered all the doors including the feature ones the house wasn't at lock-up. So.....that night the door fairies flew on over and took ALL OUR DOORS. I mean how stupid do you have to be??? Delivering stuff of value before the place is locked up and secured.

Day out at the Zoo!

Today we helped Kay's Mum aka, Grandma celebrate her birthday with a day at the zoo. I won't tell you her age coz that'll be a sure fire way to be expelled out of the will!! The weather was so so, with intermittent rain but that didn't dampen the spirits of the kids not to mention the little ones too!! We had an awesome time. The place has really changed in the few years since we last visited the family...HaHa!

This is a 16 year old elephant called "PERMUI" who was show-casing her tricks then the finale, the water spit. Very clever elephant. (Cool photo too)

This is one of the cute meerkats just enjoying the little bit of sun that graced us for a short time. No your not seeing double, well......yes you are really, thanks to some clever photographic skills!!

Hiya Folks,

Just thought an update may be in oder. Last week we received a letter for an progress payment. Man I still laugh when I see "Progress". That's so fuckin funny.
OK........Where to start.....???...?.....????......?????
Maybe I should tell you about the rather nasty email I sent them basically stating no more money until the bar is lifted on quality or should I start with the "Draft" letter I have typed and Kay edited (to remove all the nasties) that I really want to send to the supervising management but aren't allowed too. Man o Man, decisions????

OK we'll start with the email...........We received a letter of progress payment on Monday 14th. Now let me set the scene for you. It was a shit weekend, with absolute minimal work done on the house AGAIN!!! So Sunday night I wasn't a very nice person to be around, lucky I was home with the boss so she could slap me around (No Nat, NOT LIKT THAT!!) I had steam pouring outa my ears, fire in my eyes building and building and lighting bolts firing outa my ass (Juha, not from what I ate either ya cheeky shit). We didn't need the heater on that night let me tell ya! The last thing I wanted was to hear from the builder.
Alas the magic happened and I got a letter in the mail from a little man dressed in very bright yellow suit on a funny red bike the next day. Funny how that ALWAYS seems to happen to me!!! Bills ARRRHHHHH!!! Oops sorry, side tracked, back to the main event. Arriving home from work on the Monday finishing my first day in ED and feeling pretty good about the day, not even thinkin about the bloody house which is huge, I see this letter stickin outa mail box, with the builders stamp on it. At this stage and having a good day I really thought that it was an update on progress with them giving us a run down on how things have gone to date and how they are "expected" to continue. Don't know where this fantasy came from but don't worry I fuckin slapped it outa myself when I read the title of the letter unpon opening the envelope. "Progress Claim-Roff Cover". FFAAARRRRKKKKK!!!
Kay I stewed over this letter for about 30 hours (just to be accurate!!!) then we discussed witholding the payment until all the work to this date were completed thinking we are already behind so what the hell. So the evil in me just began to flow and the keyboard almost set alight!! We basically outlined the poor workmanship in the front window, the garage window, the course of brickwork they missed in the theatre room, yes MISSED!!!,the electical work, the portico roofing flooding, and the absolute "ZERO" customer feed back from the super and customer liasion officer. I then gave this lady my phone details and told her I can be contacted before a certain time on Thursday morning only as I'm on shift. Now it read very clear with all the nasties again removed to much of my disgust, that's the professionism coming outa me wife!!!! This email was sent to them on Tuesday night for her to read first thing in the morning. She then forwarded it to our customer liasion officer who then forwarded it to our super, a little like chinese whispers apparently because I don't think they read it. No, let me change that, they didn't read it all coz my mobile phone went nutz at work on WEDNESDAY (the day I'm unreachable, in fact the day before I am contactable and stated in our email????) and they left two messages on the home phone when NO ONE WAS GOING TO BE THERE???? HELLO???? I called them back on Thursday. Oh look, the day I said I'll be reachable???
and spoke to both parties concerned. They were "surprised" by the email and thought things were going along fine on our end. Yea they thought that because you could never get hold of them to tell them otherwise which is all in the draft letter that I'll reveal another time. Needless to say the conversations were colourful with nothing resolved.
Kay and I are meeting with the house rep this arvo. This guy was awesome to deal with at sign up and called me a few days ago wanting to know how things were going. Not expecting the earful the poor bastard got, but not aimed at him. He has invited us to meet which means I'm gonna miss my beloved West Coast game this arvo:(( Sacrifices we must make. Boo Hoo Hoo.

That's enough till another chapter in this gripping saga is revealed!!!

The roof is still going on?????

Well as you can see it's been over a month and the roof is still not finished. Our site super ensured us it'll be finished in two weeks from my last entry. BULL SHITT!!! This guy wouldn't know his mouth from his bum hole, he talks that much shit. And how hard is it to read building plans considering they do it FOR A LIVING. We ave found 6 fuck ups with the electrical plans that they have put in place in the home and do you think the super noticed??? Fuckin NO. This building a house has got fuckin nobs on it. Sorry if I sound hostile but shit, enough is enough. Too much bull shit and not a big enough shovel!!! We are now waiting on some "box guttering" for the portico that should have been put in place two and a half weeks ago and the dickheads still haven't made it. Can you believe that. This guttering should have been delivered when the rest of the roof sheeting was but no the "Scheduling Dept" overlooked it. Shit a brick, how the fuck can you overlook guttering?????
If anyone out there is thinking of building a house PLEASE DON'T. Way too much stress. Buy instead.

The Roof, The Roof, The Roof is going on!!

Finally, we have some more progress at the house. After the debacle of the last 5 weeks with the sacking of brickies and all the other shit that goes with it, they are getting on with it again. The roof should be completely finished by the end of the week.

It's really starting to "look like a house" now, if ya know what I mean. The expansion of the roof opens up all the rooms and gives a true account of the shape the house will take when completed.

Considering that we paid the deposit of the house and land almost 1 year ago (23rd July)it's been a long haul to reach this point so hopefully things will continue to progress to the all important finale of handing over the keys.

Once at lock up the site supervisor ensures us that it'll be 10-12 weeks to get the keys. Lets just wait and see!!!

Nothing new since the last entry

Nothing has been done still!! It's been four and a half weeks since the brickies were on site. We met with our site supervisor last night and he said he sacked all the brickies working on our house for doing something that I can't publish. So if I see you about the place I'll tell ya.

Another thing was our lintels, they have been back in the workshop 4 times because the stupid wankers can't read drawings and keep making them too bloody big. This time round they are going to be cut and resized on site then put back in place today according to the supervisor, and the brick work will be finished by himself Saturday (17th June).
He told us during our meeting last night that the timber for the roof had also been stolen and reordered during the course of the last 4 weeks, nice hey. Some kid is getting a nice big free cubby house out of us.
Apparently we are getting a roofing crew early next week and the roof should be up by the end of next fortnight so I may or may not have new photo's. You will just have to wait and see.

It's amazing, Kay and I are down at the house every couple of days or so and we never saw anything to make us concerned other that the house not moving. Now we know why.

Lots and lots of stuff up's that we have to wear, but at a cost to the builder, not us!!

BRICK WORK STILL NOT DONE!!!!!

The cheeky buggers have asked for a progress payment for "plate high" when the brick work hasn't been finished. Silly silly people!!
All the materials are there to start on the roof timbers. The lazy mungrels haven't been back to finish the bricks for 2 1/2 weeks and THEY ask for a "PROGRESS" payment. Geezzz, what will they try and do next!!
We do however have a Portico and windows to our front bedroom finally.
I'm really starting to second guess the statement of them saying we'll be in before Xmas. Oh well moving along slowly.

All the door frames are in, just need to finish the front and alfresco sides of the home and the brickwork is all done. The timber has been delivered for the roof, so we are just waiting on the brickies to finish up their super fast job and in a blink of an eye or a click of a mouse, we'll ave a roof.
Being in by Xmas is still lookin real good. Good times right now. Oh yea baby.

I thought it was a mirage caused by the glistening sunlight bouncing off the brown/grey dirt in the mid afternoon sun but alas it is actual progress.
They have only been threatening these actions for the last 3 weeks. Once the pad is down we are in for an up to 4 week wait before they lay a brick! How's that for customer service!! Those 4 weeks are gonna f***king crawl by.

Finally, we have some activity at our block. The footings have been dug and the pad should go down by the end of this week. Considering they have 3 days until the end of the week I'm not really that hopeful going on past wordings with the builder, but who knows I could be wrong.

Kay and I had a bet this afternoon prior to going down to get a progress report whether or not the slab was down. I WON!! Not a bet I enjoyed winning.

People told us that biulding again was going to be different. How right they were.
Just for interest it has been 8 months since signing up with the builder and 3 months since titles were available on the block and we received the go ahead from the city council. We were originally told we'll be in by Aug/Sept this year and at this rate, we'll be lucky to see Christmas in the new home. Anyway the house is still going to be beautiful and we can't wait to move in and restore some normality to our family.

We are still waiting on movement at the block. We were told that things were gonna start the week of the 27th Feb but alas nothing as yet. We are getting pretty bloody toey now. Went to see the same house being built in another estate which just made things even harder as they are at lock-up. They have made quite a few changes that Kay and I wouldn't have and we both aggree that it looks "SHIT", I guess mainly because they have a house and we don't!!!SHIT, SHIT SSSSSHHHHHHIIITTTTTTTTT!!!!
They say that patient is something inherited not earned. That person is wrong on both accounts coz we signed up in July, titles available December 2005 and still no movement at the station. That would earn us the honour of being patient inherited or not.

Hi all, this is the first of many postings to come.
First I must mention that our house in Settlers Hills is about to start, yes that's right you bloody rippa. The block has been cleared for site works to commence and the pad will be layed next week sometime. How cool is that.
The rug rats are doing well with the oldest started kindy 4 weeks ago and loving it. The younger two don't know what to do with themselves. All the toys and only two to fight over them, Bliss.
Kay is cool bananas. Leaving one job on Saturday and continuing with the other until who knows when.
I'm on holidays for another week and lappin up the sunshine before starting a new ward on the 1st March. Going to 7North and looking forward to the challenge.
Thats all I'm gonna write for now, but do keep checking the site in the comimg weeks. That should give me enough time to figure out what I will put up next.
